Good Decisions
In light of this strange time that’s currently going on; the global pandemic that is Coronavirus, I want to say how glad I am and grateful I am for the choice I made to go travelling in 2019.
This time last year I was super happy, I had a great job and an awesome relationship with my colleagues and an amazing family. My cousin had just got married and she’d asked me to make her wedding cake. My dad and I had a great relationship after it being mega bumpy and I had so many loved ones around me.
I don’t really know what happened after all of that, all I know is that, mentally, I was struggling. I didn’t feel like me, and because of that I let people take advantage of me. I was so lucky then that my work, friends and family all understood and supported me on my choice to go travelling. I remember my dad always pushed my brother and I to go travelling because he felt it was a life changer. I always told him what a load of crap he was talking! But at this time in my life I had to escape. Saying escape makes me sound like a whimp, but I did.
Now, nearly 6 months ago I’d had the most amazing time in Australia and met some amazing people in New Zealand. Now as I sit here and reflect, I realise that although I am only 23, my choice to ‘escape’ was the best decision I made. It has made me who I am, and made me realise what I want. Of course, not all of my questions were answered, and life wasn’t all Rosie after that. Some of those people who were in my life when I left last year are no longer there, some by their choice and some by my own.
So what I want to say here is a big thank you to all of those people who backed me up in 2019 and helped me make my travels possible. We are all going through a tough time at the moment with the Coronavirus, but we have to remember that there are positives that we have to remember. There is so much to be thankful for.
Here are some pictures of me during my time away, to bring those positive vibes and so you can see my happy face and remember, I am so grateful to everyone who helped me get through 2019!
What are you greatful for?
