19 Days
So, the Topdeck tour is over. It went so fast. Too fast. When I booked the Topdeck tour I was so excited, but as it got closer and closer, I got more nervous. I was worried I wouldn’t get along with or like any of the other people on the tour with me. The thing is, I have never had a large amount of friends, and I could never work out why. But now I know. It’s because I’ve always been too quick to judge, too quick to give my opinion when it isn’t needed, and too quick to be, well, rude.
These 19 days with ‘strangers’ have been the finding of me. When I say finding, I mean, the realisation that I’m not always a nice person and I’m always too quick to judge. And I’ve never been good at mixing with different people, I’ve always wanted to be with mum kind of people’ and be done with it. But my eyes have been well and truly opened. I have realised that in everyday life everyone needs to be open minded, friendly, honest and true to themselves.
So many people aren’t honest with themselves before they are honest with others. Someone I have recently become friends with from the UK is an example of that. He lacks complete confidence in himself and he allows himself to be dragged in by other people who make him into a not so nice person. I hope he finds what I have found one day.
So the moral of the story here is, everyone should go on an organised tour holiday at some point in their lives, alone. It will test your boundaries. Life is all about testing you, it keeps you on your game and helps mould you to be the person you’re meant to be. So my advice is, even if you think you know who you are, you should still go on a holiday tour alone. Because like me, an amazing outcome is set to be had.
It was so so hard to say goodbye to all of my new friends from around the world, and I truly hope we all stay in contact and stay being the best version of ourselves we can be.
